5 Star Hotel in Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Residence is a collection of 29 elegant, 5-star hotel suites through three adjoining Victorian houses in the West End of Edinburgh.

Categorised as 'classic', 'grand' and 'townhouse', the 5-star suites are more like apartments, with magnificent proportions that really allow you to spread out and make yourself at home. In some, the sitting rooms are adjoining, and in others they are self-contained.

The Edinburgh Residence feels more like a club than a hotel - especially since many guests return for a week each year. It offers 24-hour room service and all the housekeeping, porter, concierge and reception services you would associate with a 5-star hotel; but we also include microwaves, cutlery and extended minibars in the rooms, to encourage in-room dining. This makes the suites especially workable for families or anyone staying in Edinburgh for an extended period.

We've cultivated an antique-chic look at the Edinburgh Residence suites, which we think suits the personality of the building: original oak doors remain, and we've used traditional period furnishings and etchings, prints, oils and botanical prints.

Afternoon tea and drinks are served in the grand drawing room, and guests come here at all times of the day to relax and enjoy a slight retreat from the fast pace of Edinburgh life; they are also quite welcome to invite friends in.
